LENT Preview – Week Zero

Posted on: February 16, 2015

Learning the Cost of Discipleship

The 40 days of Lent begin Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18, and end on Holy Saturday, April 14 (also called the Vigil of Easter). Sundays during the six weeks of Lent are not counted in the 40 days.

Online I offer two free 40-day calendars and two free study guides that include weekly reflections and activities.

For a gentle daily reminder, follow me on Twitter and Linked-In (see below). The reminders will, appropriately, center around Alternatives’ legacy resources based on Liturgical Year B (Mark).

This Week

Mon., 2/16-Lent Prep – Read the Introduction to the two Mark-based 40-day guides. Choose one for the season.

Tues., 2/17-Lent Eve – Read the Introductions of both Mark-based series. Choose one for the season.

2/18-Lent Day 1, Ash Wed.: read day 1 of the 40-day guide you’ve chosen; read the reflection for Ash Wed. from the series you’ve chosen.

2/19-Thur.: read day 2 of your 40-day guide; read the activities for Ash Wed. from the series you’ve chosen; select at least one activity to do.
