Just as the Christmas Season begins Christmas Day and Easter Season begins on Easter Sunday, so the third big festival of the Christian calendar begins on Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit. Though the Pentecost Season is called Ordinary Time, it is the longest of the year, stretching clear till Advent in late fall.
